Manfred Mann - Semi-Detached Suburban Mr James
A big 1966 hit in the UK for Manfred Mann (most famous in the US for their cover of The Exciters’ “Doo Wah Diddy” and Dylan’s “The Mighty Quinn”), this is another track from my 60s Fuzz prototape. I’m not sure of the provenance of this live footage, but this appears to be the studio version with perhaps some live vocals (standard, and bizarre, British pop TV practice). One interesting thing to note: Klaus Voorman was on bass at this point (he that befriended The Beatles in Hamburg, designed the cover for Revolver, and played bass in The Plastic Ono Band).
EDIT: Nevermind, this is very not the studio version (which is fab), but I couldn’t find a clip of that. Guess you’ll have to ask me for a 60s Fuzz tape to hear it?
